Writer's picture: Allison C.Allison C.

Good morning, all!

Today, I have a very special interview to share. This week, on both our blog and partnering podcast, Bookmarked, we will be chatting with metaphysical author and dream analyst Megan Mary.

Megan is the best-selling author of the Witches of Maple Hollow book series, a dream interpreter, and she started her own publishing company, Inner Realms Publishing. In addition, Megan has her own podcast called Women's Dream Enlightenment.

I loved getting to chat with Megan this week and learn about her Witches of Maple Hollow series as well as what inspired her to write the books.

You can visit Megan's website, meganmary.com, to learn even more about her!

Now, without further ado, please enjoy the following Q&A with Megan, and tune in this Friday to Bookmarked for another great interview with the author!

BOOKMARKED: I read that you're a dream interpreter, along with being a best-selling author. How did you first get into dream interpretation?

MEGAN MARY: I have always been fascinated by dreams since I was a child. I used to have amazing flying dreams as well as recurring nightmares, and I wanted to know why we dreamed, why we spent so much of our lives in the dreamworld, and what significance, if any, those experiences held.

I have spent my career creating meaningful change through digital publishing and marketing. However, after being diagnosed with three different chronic illnesses, I began reevaluating my life purpose and started to return to the higher guidance hidden in my dreams. I began meditating and paying attention to the subtler messages that were coming from my spirit guides and my higher self. Those quiet whispers that I had so easily ignored before became louder and stronger the more I listened. My dreams began sending me messages, and I began to heed their words. It was then that I began to feel called to step into a new role in my life to help other women understand the benefits of dreamwork.

What inspired you to write your Witches of Maple Hollow book series, and what's it about?

In 2014, upon returning from my bucket list trip to Scotland with my husband, I had a vivid dream. I had always been fascinated by my dreams, but this one stuck out so much to me that I had to do something about it.

I started to write a short story about it, not really sure what would become of it. That story became the inspiration for The Dream Haunters, which then turned into a series called the Witches of Maple Hollow. The series follows the self-discovery journey of Hannah Skye, a young woman in search of meaning, who receives a cryptic letter from her missing and eccentric Aunt Jewelia. Her experience of a recurring, powerful pumpkin patch dream unfolds into a spiritual journey to a mysterious island of eternal autumn, Maple Hollow, where she discovers the mystical Skye Manor and her magickal family legacy.

The series uniquely blends fantasy, mystery, women’s fiction, and even self-help into a cozy metaphysical tale that will appeal to women of all ages. It blends discovered powers, secret societies, spiritual inheritance, unexpected portals, spells, vortexes, dimensions, and dreams.

I know you also have your own publishing company, Inner Realms Publishing. What inspired you to start this?

I started Inner Realms Publishing initially to self-publish my first novel, which went on to become an international bestseller. I hold both a MA and BA in English literature, am pursuing my PhD in Metaphysical Sciences, have co-owned a web services company for 25+ years, have worked for a Fortune 50 company as a digital publisher for over 12+ years, and have freelanced in a wide variety of marketing roles over my career.

I decided to leverage all of my skills and experience to launch a uniquely different publishing company that works exclusively with women authors to help them elevate their voice, navigate the murky depths of the web, and achieve bestseller status themselves.

Where are you hoping to see Inner Realms Publishing go in the future?

It is my hope that Inner Realms will grow to become a women’s version of Llewellyn, launching mind, body, and spirit titles authored by women around the globe. In the short term, I am hoping to connect with women authors everywhere to share my experience and help them on their publishing journey to success.

I know you also have a podcast called Women's Dream Enlightenment. How did this get started, and what kind of content do you feature on the podcast?

When I experienced one of my most powerful spiritual awakenings a few years back, along with becoming a dream analyst for women around the globe, the other thing I felt compelled to launch was a podcast. The objective of my podcast is to elevate women’s spiritual experiences by having them come on and share their stories of spiritual awakening, as well as open their dream journals to share their dreams on the show.

Episodes feature analysis of real women's dreams as well as interviews with women soulpreneurs and heart-centered conscious business owners who contribute to women's empowerment and enlightenment. Metaphysical topics discussed include: Enlightenment, Dreams, Lucid Dreaming, Shadow Work, Nightmare, Archetypes, Grief, Trauma, Metaphysics, Intuition, Shamanism, Witchcraft, Ghosts, Afterlife, Clairvoyance, Authenticity, Abundance, Divine Feminine, Channeling, Astrology, and more!

Is there anything you'd like to say to the fans and supporters in your life?

I would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the women that rushed in from around the globe to celebrate my calling. They provided healing and validation when I needed it most, and I will be forever grateful.

To the fans of my work, podcast, and books, I sincerely hope they will both educate, enlighten, and inspire them on their own journey of self-discovery. That is my greatest hope!
