Good afternoon!
Welcome to another week of Bookmarked, the blog for readers and authors alike.
Today, I have a very special Q&A to share with you all. Julia Hurley, author of upcoming children's book "The Very Contrary Fairy," will be featured in our new PODCAST episode this Friday! I also got the opportunity to do a brief Q&A with her, which will be featured in today's blog post.
In this adorable and sweet book, the very contrary fairy sure has a lot to say about what she must do each day. But when she decides to run away, will she make it home in time and stay? You'll have to read the book to find out! The book is available to pre-order NOW at this link.
Now, without further ado, here is my brief Q&A with Julia. And remember, to find out more, you'll have to listen to this Friday's new podcast episode! It will be a very fun and informative interview you won't want to miss.
BOOKMARKED: What initially inspired you to start writing?
JULIA HURLEY: Long story short, I watched as my husband's children were taken from him by an unjust court system, and it sparked this series focused on relationships with fathers and their children.
What message do you want people to take away from your new book, "The Very Contrary Fairy"?
I want people to know that it's okay to have opinions and be contrary! And it's also okay to need and want to be with your father.
If you had to summarize your new book in 3 words, what would you say?
Girls need dads.
Who are some of your favorite authors and favorite books of all time?
Well, "Great Expectations" is my all-time favorite novel. I love Emily Dickinson as well.
Do you plan to write more in the future? If so, do you have anything in mind?
Yes! There is actually an entire series on the way!
Is there anything you'd like to say to your lovely supporters and fans?
I'd like to say a massive thank you for the support and encouragement throughout my career.
