Good evening, Bookmarked followers!
Is everyone getting excited for Thanksgiving? It's only two weeks away, and I know I'm certainly thankful for a lot. I can't wait to spend the holiday with family and friends.
Sound off in the comment section what you're most thankful for this year!
This week, I wanted to use the blog to draw everyone's attention to an extremely cool event coming up on Nov. 15th!
Nov. 15th is I LOVE TO WRITE DAY. Founded by John Riddle, the goal for this day is to do exactly what the name suggests... write! The official website for this celebration, which can be found here, says the following:
“My goal for I Love To Write Day is to have people of all ages spend time writing. They can write a poem, a love letter, a greeting card, an essay, a short story, start a novel, finish a novel…the possibilities are endless. But I want people to take the time to put their thoughts down on paper. They will be amazed at the results."
For many, this could be the start of a writing career! You never know... I Love To Write Day could inspire the next generation of Stephen Kings, Jane Austens, Toni Morrisons, or John Steinbecks. You won't know until you try! And that's what I Love To Write Day is all about... giving writing a shot.
Here at JCP, we encourage everyone to write something on Nov. 15th, whether it be the next great American novel or a shopping list. Just put pen to paper!
Feel free to share whatever you write with us either via email or by tagging us on social media! Or, you can copy and paste whatever you write in the comment section of the blog. Whatever works for you! I personally would love to read ANYTHING you write. Creative expression is something that's very important to me, and I think everyone should be encouraged to express themselves through writing.
Finally, I want to let everyone know that JCP is now offering gift cards! These gift cards would be the PERFECT Christmas gift for someone special. You can even customize the design on the card! To make a gift card purchase, you can visit this link. The gift card can be used either online via our JCP website or in person at our bookstore, Books & Gifts!
That wraps up this week's blog post. Happy holiday season, everyone! Don't forget to give your loved ones a big hug.
