Good afternoon, Bookmarked readers!
I hope everyone is finding something positive to focus on in this new year, and I hope all of your New Year's resolutions are going the way you want them to! I know that new years bring new challenges, but they also hopefully bring new joys and celebrations.
This week, speaking of joy, I had the great pleasure to sit down with author Karen G. Bruce and talk to her about her newest novel, A Heart Never Dies, as well as her experiences as an author and some great writing advice.
My interview with Karen will be featured THIS FRIDAY on our podcast, Bookmarked, which is available on most listening platforms, including Spotify. I loved getting to hear the inspiration behind Karen's newest book, as well as chatting about book recommendations and all things writing!
You won't want to miss out on this week's podcast episode, I promise!
Now, for those of you who are unfamiliar with Karen's past work, I wanted to take some time to discuss her two novels, which were both published through Jan-Carol Publishing.
Her first novel is called Josie: A Story of Forgiveness.
In this debut novel from Karen Bruce, Josie is finally coming out of a deep depression after losing her mom to breast cancer, only to find out her husband has been having an affair with her best friend. Her life is already in shambles when she learns her mother had some secrets of her own.
This fictional story will resonate with many people in some way, whether it involves a spouse who has cheated, a parent who is facing a devastating illness, or family secrets that can turn your whole world upside down. Forgiveness is not always easy; it's oftentimes something that is easier said than done. Can you forgive? Can you forget? Everyone's story is different, but holding on to your hurt can choose your path in life, whether it's moving on or holding back.
You can purchase Josie: A Story of Forgiveness here.
Karen's latest novel is called A Heart Never Dies, and it is filled with twists and turns.
In this tragic but romantic story, Jenna has just lost her husband to a drunk driver. Her world has turned upside down, and then she meets Ben.
Their connection is instant and baffling. When Jenna finds out that Ben may have her deceased husband's heart, can she stay with the man who lived only because her husband died?
Be sure to purchase Karen's second novel here. It's a wonderful story with relatable, real characters and lots of depth.
Karen also has her own blog, which can be found on her website, https://karengbruce.com/. Karen utilizes her blog to write various short stories that will absolutely grip you, so be sure to check out her website!
Also, Karen has a short story that will be featured in our upcoming romance anthology collection, Steamy Creek: A Cozy Romance Anthology, set to release in time for Valentine's Day this year. We are all very excited to bring readers a romance anthology. It'll be a new experience for us, but we absolutely can't wait for everyone to read this collection of romantic stories from several very talented authors.
That's all I have for today, so again, please listen to our weekly podcast, Bookmarked, to hear my interview with Karen Bruce on FRIDAY. And if you haven't had the chance to listen to our past episodes, give them a listen as well. The podcast is hosted by Janie Jessee, Draco Bailey, and myself, and we discuss all things pertaining to Jan-Carol Publishing, authors, books, and writing, editing, and marketing tips.
Thanks, and have a great rest of your week!
