Good afternoon, everyone!
I hope you're having a lovely Thursday so far. I am absolutely loving the warmer weather we've been receiving as of late, and I hope it continues as we enter into the spring season!
What is your favorite thing about spring? I personally love the sunny weather and seeing all the beautiful flowers bloom.

There are more hours in a day!
Today, aside from celebrating getting closer and closer to spring, I wanted to talk about a few book tracking apps/tools that I find very helpful when it comes to finding the motivation to read and tracking my progress.
Many of you are probably familiar with Goodreads already, so I'll start with that one. But I also want to recommend a few lesser-known apps because if you're anything like me, you can get bored with an app very easily! Plus, I think it's important to raise awareness of resources that can help us all read more in the new year. Regardless of how your brain works, there is probably a book tracking app that would appeal to your style of thinking/reading!
1. Goodreads
Goodreads is, without a doubt, the most popular book tracking app out there. It has been around for over 10 years, and it has a huge database of books and allows you to track your reading progress as well as rate and review books you've read. It also allows you to set goals for yourself, which I personally find very beneficial. Without setting goals, I can lose my motivation.
Goodreads is also free to use! You can sign up for a free account and immediately use everything the app has to offer.
Lastly, because Goodreads is so popular, it has a huge community of readers, so it's easy to connect with other people/groups on the app if you're someone who likes to discuss books you're reading online. Goodreads offers discussion forums to cultivate conversation!
If you're wanting a classic book tracking app experience, I definitely recommend Goodreads. It's the most popular for a reason!
2. Dante
Dante is a little lesser known than Goodreads, but it has a lot to offer for beginners who are looking for something simple!
Dante only has three shelves available for categorizing books — one for books you've already read, one for your "currently reading" list, and one for your TBR list. This may seem oversimplified for diehard booklovers who like to use book tracking apps to connect with their community or set goals. However, if you're new to book tracking apps and want to start simple, Dante is probably the way to go!
Another perk of Dante is that it will select a random TBR book from your pile, so if you're ever debating which book to read next, Dante eliminates that uncertainty and chooses for you!
3. StoryGraph
StoryGraph is a bit newer to the book tracking app scene, but it has gained a lot of popularity in recent years... and for good reason!
While StoryGraph may appear to be quite similar to Goodreads in that it offers similar features (tracking your reading progress, rating and reviewing books, setting goals for yourself, etc.), StoryGraph is different in that it offers personalized book recommendations based on your reading habits, mood, favorite topics, and general themes.
If you're looking for an app that will give you great reading recommendations, StoryGraph is perfect for you!
4. Litsy
Litsy is possibly the most unique option on this list because it's super interactive! It has been described as "Goodreads-meets-Instagram" because it lets you share "bookish moments" with your friends and members of the community, whether that be a photo of the novel you're reading or a favorite quote. You can also share reviews and blurbs!
And, once you start regularly posting about books you've read, you will begin to get a cool diorama of your reading history.
If you're looking for a book tracking app that is a little more social, then Litsy would be my suggestion!
Thanks for checking back with Bookmarked this week! Keep checking in for updates on events and activities at our new bookstore, Books & Gifts, because we have a lot planned for 2023!
