Hello, everyone!
Thank you for taking the time to read another post from Bookmarked. This week, we wanted to showcase JCP's incredibly talented Graphic Designer, Tara Sizemore.
Tara has been with the company for more than 15 years now, and she absolutely loves it.
If you want to hear from our other wonderfully talented and creative staff, make sure to tune in to this Friday's podcast episode. Janie, Draco, and I will be sitting down to discuss our favorite moments of 2023 and some of our goals for the new year. We've all been so thankful for Bookmarked's success as both a podcast and a blog, and we hope everyone continues to support and show us love in 2024!
Now, let's hear from Tara.
BOOKMARKED: What have been some highlights for you professionally in 2023?
TARA SIZEMORE: Some highlights have been celebrating and sharing the joy with debut authors who are being published for the first time, as well as being part of the creative process. Another highlight has been that Voice Magazine is getting ready to celebrate 20 years! I've been with the company for over 15 years and have loved being a part of an informative publication that celebrates local women!
Is there anything new you've learned or experienced on the job this year?
Technology. As a designer, technology is constantly changing, and I'm always learning. Some examples are upgrading to the newest Adobe creative software, learning new print and web design tools, photo editing tricks, and everything regarding our new podcast!
What are some of your favorite books you've read in 2023?
Some of my favorite national best-selling books that I've read this year are as follows:
Kristin Hannah's "The Great Alone"
Colleen Hoover's "It Ends With Us"
Taylor Jenkins Reid's "The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo"
Elin Hilderbrand's "The Five-Star Weekend"
Jodi Picoult's "Mad Honey"
My favorite books published by Jan-Carol Publishing this year have been the following:
Justin Shepherd's "Boundaries"
Addy May's "Waves"
Jeff Geiger Jr.'s "Mama's Boys"
Mike Grindstaff's "Second Chance to Die"
Donna Snow King's "Snow Much Love"
What are some of your hopes and goals for 2024?
My hope is to continue collaborating with exciting new authors and have our magazine, blog, and podcast grow!
Looking back at the year, what are you most proud of?
Several of the books we published this year became best-sellers, and it is so rewarding to be a part of that amazing accomplishment!
